Low Gap Shelter- Rocky Mountain Campsite
Another great day on trail! Believe it or not, it didn’t rain at all. We woke up at like 6:30 to try and get out ahead of the rain and we arrived at Blue Mountain Shelter by like noon… we decided to push on after lunch and ended up at a beautiful campsite at Rocky Mountain. Our happy little trail family is still together since the cabin, and we already reserved two motel rooms in Hiawassee together.

I hiked some of the day alone, all in all, it was super nice and not too many crazy climbs. Erika, Drew, Allee, and Katy all hike super fast. Kayla, Dave, and Tally all hike around my speed but I like to be last going uphill. I saw my first snake today (ugh). Unfortunately we didn’t get any trail magic today unless you count the trail runner who gave us a granola bar. I officially have been given a trail name- Magic! Kayla came up with it because I always bet on whether or not there will be trail magic that day (and so far I’ve been right!) I think it’s pretty rad and I’m totally here for it.

I feel like so far I haven’t interacted with a ton of people outside of my tramily, but I know that will come. There’s a group of older guys we passed a bunch that we’ve dubbed the Old Man Crew and some super fast younger folks. Tomorrow is likely rainy…
