Magic in the Mountains

Another day without hiking and I’m not too upset… I feel kind of guilty about staying at the hostel another night, but anything I can do to prolong this adventure will probably be a good thing in the long run and I shouldn’t feel bad.

I woke up super hungover and had a really hard time getting going. Thankfully I had some leftovers that I got to eat for breakfast and we didn’t have to wait too long to go tubing.

Peak Freak hooked us up with tubes and gave us a ride to the river. There were 8 of us so we had a full-blown flotilla going. It was me, DQ, Bodega, Superman, AKA, Sherlock, Wildcat, and Cardinal. The weather could not have been more perfect and the water felt great, I was so so happy to be on the river!

We drank lots o beer and just had the best time. It turned into a bit of a white water adventure and we went over a legit rapid at the end that flipped all of us – I even lost my hat 😦

We all went back to the hostel and I intended to hike out with Bodega, but I was so unmotived that I ended up deciding to stay. I’m bummed I let another friend hike on without me, but hopefully I’ll catch up eventually. I HAVE to hike tomorrow…
