Shaw’s Hostel, Monson, ME

Our last hostel zero and it involved lots of screen time, warm beer, and laying in bed. We had to get up early this morning (couldn’t sleep in ): ) because of the famous breakfast being served. For a hostel it felt like a legit restaurant – it was delicious and filling.

Truffles and I sat with this older couple from AZ doing a LASH named Neon and Autumn Breeze. They had hiked the PCT, CDT, AZT, and had done lots of other cool stuff and I really enjoyed talking to them.

Breakfast was really the only thing on the agenda this morning, so we got to chill hard the rest of the day. We checked out the gear store; Shaw’s is such a nice place! Very thankful our last 2 hostel experiences have been so nice.

The rest of the day I bounced back and forth between hanging out in the room with the boys and sitting outside on the porch. I walked to the general store with Creature before the rain started, then it was more lazing around with the boys. Eventually, we made our way back to the general store for dinner.

I defiantly didn’t socialize as much as I should have, especially since this may be the last time I see a lot of people like the Dirty Bubble. The highlight of the day was being extended a job offer from JPD – I’m officially going to be the Trailer caretaker when I get home!

We all booked flights home and reserved a room in Bangor for one last night altogether. It’s all getting real.. it’s happening soon!
