East Branch Shelter – Cooper Brook Falls Shelter
***I didn’t take any pictures on this day, so these photos are from other days on my hike***
Today was a super easy and chill day. Because we pushed big miles yesterday, we didn’t have to cover as much ground today which was a nice change. There was a potential for rain, so we said the night before that if it was raining when we got up we would go back to sleep and wait out the rain. When Truffles and I woke up it was raining, so we went back to sleep until 11am! It felt great to sleep in and not be in a rush.
We didn’t leave camp until almost 1pm, and we were able to cover ground very quickly. There was one small “mountain” (2,017 feet) we had to climb, but we were up and over it really quickly and able to continue on our way.

Truffles, Hangman, and I hiked together for a while before running into Hollywood. He’s planning on pushing bigger miles and finishing before us, so we said our goodbyes and he was on his way. It’s strange to think I’ll never see most of these people again; kind of like a weird high school graduation.
We got to the shelter around 4pm and were able to veg out for a while. It’s still cool out so it’s been too cold for swimming, which is a shame because this shelter is by one of the most beautiful falls/swimming holes I’ve seen all trail!
We made dinner early and were in bed by 7:30pm… we’re a real wild bunch. The hiking has been so easy and we finish the days so quickly we don’t have much else to do other than sleep. No complaints though!
