In March 2023, Truffles, Pimento, and I set out to thru hike the 800 mile long Arizona Trail. This dirt path stretches from the US/Mexico border to Utah and traverses the length of the state of Arizona. The trail travels through desert, mountains, and several small trail towns. We started March 17th at Montezuma Pass with the intention of hiking north to the Utah border. Along the way we encountered snow, rattle snakes, blisters, and new friends. About 450 miles into the journey we made the decision to get off trail in Pine, AZ on April 21st. Our thru hike turned into a LASH (long ass section hike), and we hope to return to the trail in the future to complete the miles we missed.
