On October 4, 2025, Cade and I set the Fastest Known Time for the Tour de LeConte in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This route traverses all six trails that lead to the LeConte Lodge: Bullhead, Boulevard, Alum Cave, Rainbow Falls, Trillium Gap, Brushy Mountain. In total, it is almost 45 miles with about 24,000 feet of elevation change.
The goal of the Tour de LeConte is to complete this behemoth hike in under 24 hours. We wanted to break the current speed record for a self-supported mixed-gender team. Nancy East and Chris Ford set the 16:13:0 FKT in 2020. Our time in 2025 was 15:44:10.
Stay tuned for posts about this incredible accomplishment!
