Notch Hostel – Liberty Springs Campsite
Woke up this morning nice and snuggly with Truffles. The Notch is easily one of the most beautiful hostels I’ve stayed at. I took a wonderful shower, put on some stylish loaner clothes, and processed to drink coffee on the porch with my friends. I was happy.
Terri showed up again and invited us over to his condo’s pool, so our crew packed up quickly and got to swim for free at a nice resort pool. The fun was short lived because we decided we needed to hurry back to the trail to beat the rain. After some scrambling Terri dropped us off at Subway for lunch and Odie took us back to the trail head. Odie is one of the most selfless people on trail; his bus is AMAZING and makes me want to live in a van and do trail magic. We would have been fucked without him yesterday.
We only planned to do 2.5 miles to a campsite, but it was straight up so no one was excited. Top it off with a forecast for thunderstorms and we were even less enthusiastic. I left before everyone and promised myself I would make it to camp before the rain if it killed me. I was worried it would be more uphill like the Kinsmans, but thankfully it was just steep but not vertical. I was impressed with my ability to keep going. I stopped for short breaks but mainly just powered through. I even beat everyone to camp!
Once everyone arrived the boys had to rig up something so their tents would work on the wooden platforms. Truffles is so smart and able to figure anything out *heart eyes*.

The rest of the evening was uneventful. I like our little tent haven. Franconia Ridge tomorrow!
